Gisele Bundchen stopped by “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” Thursday to play a game of Catchphrase, talk about how she met Tom Brady, and discuss why she wrote her new book, “Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life.”
At one point in time, Bundchen’s friends thought the Brazilian supermodel might have trouble finding a boyfriend, she told Fallon.
Bundchen said that after being set up on a couple of bad blind dates, she was fixed up with Brady. But before the date, she decided she only wanted to meet the Patriots quarterback for a drink instead of dinner, because a drink can be “three minutes or two hours.”
Very quickly, Bundchen realized that her date with Brady was an improvement over her previous blind dates.
“When I saw those kind eyes, I literally fell in love right away,” she said.
Bundchen also discussed why she decided to write “Lessons,” in which she reveals that she suffered from panic attacks and suicidal thoughts, among other very personal confessions. She said that when friends and friends of friends reached out to her about their various struggles, she tried her best to help them. Later, she realized that these same tips she passed along to them could help others beyond her social circle.
“I felt like there was only a few people who can get to me,” she said. “So I figured if I do an open letter to talk about challenges I faced and things that have helped me, maybe I’ll be able to help more people.”
